It's the week of Thanksgiving (except for Canada) and what better Non Video Game to discuss than the one you can use to make sure your uptight relatives you secretly hate never want to see you ever again, Cards Against Humanity.

It's probably the most ubiquitous "mature" card game in the world, presenting opportunities to show how almost everyone (including your saint of a grandmother) appreciates dark humor.

Here's how the game works, in case you don't know:

One person places a black card that serves as a prompt, either asking a question or presenting a fill in the blank opportunity.

Example prompt:

The only thing we have to fear is __________.

Then, everyone else plays a white card (or cards if there are multiple blanks to fill in) that satisfies the prompt in a manner which they think will be chosen as the best (determined by the person who played the black card).

Our black card was "The only thing we have to fear is ___________"

Example responses:

a little poop coming out when you fart

Ryan Seacrest

Donald Trump in a speedo

Genital warts

Now, if I'm the one who played the black card, I'm choosing Donald Trump in a speedo because that's terrifying.

The person who played that card gets the black card and everyone replenishes their hand of white cards before the next black card is played.

Many people have been wondering what the Republicans are actually saying about net neutrality (if they aren't just hiding). This is the reply Letter I got from Marco Rubio's office last night.

Dear Mr. xxxxxxxx

Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts regarding the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) internet regulations commonly referred to as "net neutrality." Understanding your views helps me better represent Florida in the United States Senate, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Since its inception, the internet has flourished with minimal government involvement and has revolutionized our ability to communicate and conduct commerce. It provides businesses with the ability to compete in the global marketplace and is an engine of economic growth. Continued development of the internet and modern telecommunications, free of excessive and overly burdensome government regulations, is key to American innovation.

On February 26, 2015, the FCC voted 3-2 to reclassify broadband as a telecommunications utility under Title II of the Communications Act. The 332-page regulation was called “net neutrality,” referencing the concept of preventing internet service providers (ISPs) from creating “fast lanes” and “slow lanes” for different content. This regulation effectively transferred power from ISPs to the federal government, and threatened to overregulate the Internet in a way that would make it more expensive for consumers, less innovative and less competitive.

On April 26, 2017, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to roll back the 2015 regulation. Chairman Pai is committed to an open and transparent process. As he explained, “two years ago, the FCC hid the Title II Order from the American people until after it had been adopted. Only certain special interest groups were given special access able to make major changes to it. The FCC had to pass the 313-page Order before the public was allowed to see what was in it. The process over the coming months will be open and transparent with a nearly three month open comment period. You may agree or disagree with the proposal, but you’ll be able to see exactly what it is.” On May 18, 2017 the FCC voted to make the NPRM official. The comment period ended on August 30th, and the commission is expect to vote and issue a final decision on the rule.

I believe modernizing the 1996 Communications Act should be a top priority for Congress, and would clarify the FCC's role in the modern communications landscape. Congress must create level regulatory playing field that protects consumers and encourages innovation.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve you as your United States Senator. I will keep your thoughts in mind as I consider these issues and continue working to ensure America remains a safe and prosperous nation.

Looking at the ordeal with SWBF, it's clear that that causes for r/gaming have the power to bring the reddit community together and support them. This was about those redditors getting their wallets hit unfairly in order to game. Doesn't net neutrality have the same effect?

What is an 'Open Internet'?

Sometimes referred to as "net neutrality," "Internet freedom" or the "open Internet," these rules protect your ability to go where you want when you want online. Broadband service providers cannot block or deliberately slow speeds for internet services or apps, favor some internet traffic in exchange for consideration, or engage in other practices that harm internet openness.

How do FCC rules protect the Open Internet?

The FCC's Open Internet rules protect and maintain open, uninhibited access to lawful online content. The rules specifically prohibit:

Blocking: Broadband providers may not block access to lawful content, applications, services or non-harmful devices.
Throttling: Broadband providers may not deliberately target some lawful internet traffic to be delivered to users more slowly than other traffic.
Paid prioritization: Broadband providers may not favor some internet traffic in exchange for consideration of any kind. Internet service providers are also banned from prioritizing content and services of their affiliates.

The rules also put in place standards going forward to ensure that ISPs cannot engage in new or different practices—outside those three prohibitions—that would cause similar harms to the open internet.

The rules apply to both fixed and mobile broadband service to protect your internet access.

In May 2017, the FCC initiated a new proceeding to assess whether the current rules are the best approach to Internet freedom. We are currently taking public comments on the issue, and more information can be found at http://ift.tt/2txnC6j

FCC rules require broadband providers to be transparent about the services they offer and to provide sufficient information to empower you to make informed choices – including choices about speed, price, and network management practices.
