The CEO of Take-Two Interactive has stated that he wants even MORE microtransactions (or “consumer spending opportunities” as he likes to call them) in Red Dead Redemption 2 and other future Rockstar titles. This possibly means that in addition to multiplayer microtransactions which are already bad enough, we might see single player microtransactions as well. If Rockstar and Take Two turn RDR2 into a pay to win microtransaction cash cow grind fest like they have with GTA 5 Online then I will officially have lost all faith in Rockstar. We live in an age where game devs care more about maximizing profits than delivering a quality game that’s fun to play. I kind of wish that everyone would boycott the fuck out of RDR2 so Rockstar will stop with this bullshit and go back to how they used to be, but I know that will never happen.
Oh, and by the way, the CEO of Take-Two admitted that he himself does not even play video games and tries to stay as far away from the “creative side” of the gaming industry as possible. So in other words he doesn’t know, nor care, what gamers want. He’s just in it for the money.
