Google Has Updated "Google Drive," by giving it a new name, "Backup and Sync," and a New UI. This update comes with no documentation or notice to companies that rely on the software and appears not to be working for hundreds of users.
Google has updated it's "Google Drive Sync" application without warning or notice and now hundreds of people across /r/Google and the official Google Drive Forums are unable to access the service.
The Google Drive Application is a program that creates a watch folder on your desktop to automatically upload it's contents when files are changed, added, or removed.
Google changed the application's User Interface, and name from "Google Drive" to "Backup and Sync." People can only assume Google accidentally pushed out a developmental branch of it's software, and for businesses who rely on the software are now in the dark.

PSA: Mass Effect Andromeda and the original Mass Effect trilogy were made by two different studios.
Bioware Edmonton are what we know as "Bioware", they made the Mass Effect Trilogy, KOTOR, Dragon Age etc.
Bioware Montreal are a "support" studio for Edmonton. They made Mass Effect Andromeda. Andromeda is their first and only full release.
Almost no one who worked on the original ME trilogy is worked on Andromeda meaning Andromeda and it was effectively made by the Bioware "B-team".
Just seen lots of people complaining about "Bioware" in general in regards to the negative response to Andromeda. The main studios last game was Inquisition which was actually quite good.
Lets just hope that the main studio are working on KOTOR 3..

Microsoft has intentionally crippled Windows update on Windows 7 and 8.1 for Kaby Lake and Ryzen systems
The processors in question are fully backwards compatible and have all the capabilities of the older processors. As such they can run Windows 7 and 8.1 in the same way that the old processors can without extra support from Microsoft. Examples of this can be seen in tests on YouTube.
Now, before some fanatics come out to remind me that Microsoft announced that they were not supporting the new CPU's months ago, I'll remind everyone that "no support" is not at all the same thing as actively preventing users who installed Windows 7 or 8.1 on the new CPU's from using the software.
It seems that this is the latest of Microsofts tactics intended to force people to Windows 10.

Why is it when it's revealed that the CIA or the FBI or the nsa or some other government agency has another way of spying on people, it is generally met by the public with surprise and/or outrage and so forth?
When Snowden documents got released, it seemed fair to me that people were shocked even tho I personally wasn't. I always assumed that the government was trying it's best to collect data from it's people for "national security" purposes. But I could see the situation being that many people had chosen to remain ignorant to the extent to which the government was trying to spy on them and that was the final way for the lid to come off of the whole thing.
But it's now been about 3-4 years since Snowden leak and general population still seems surprised when new spying tactics are revealed. The whole Samsung TV thing for instance. Samsung itself told consumers back in Feb 2015 that people should generally not say anything confidential in front of their TV as it's always listening and people just now are being surprised that it's a method of surveillance. Why the delay in general public understanding of the extent of the surveillance?
I'm not saying the leaks aren't good or informative, it's good to know exactly how we're being spied on just for the sake of being well informed, but being surprised by the information revealed by the leaks seems odd to me.
I don't understand what's preventing people from fully grasping the extent of the situation.
What am I missing or overlooking?
Edit: before I get told this, it doesn't bug me that people are surprised, but rather their surprise surprises me.

At this rate, someone needs to write an Ad Block Plus type app for Windows and to block ads pretty much everywhere else
Given that we now have advertisements in Microsoft Windows Explorer, on the Pro and Enterprise versions, this is getting out of hand.
There needs to be a way to block these. Perhaps right now a simple HOSTS address block, but it's going to have to get more sophisticated with time.
What next? Advertising in Microsoft Word based on the keywords that you type?
