My PS+ account was apparently hijacked and I have lost access to it. The hijacker racked up $300 of debt and got my account banned. After proving that I am the original owner of the account, I am now expected to pay off THE HIJACKER'S DEBT or else forfeit my remaining subscription (Details inside)

I originally posted this to PCMR, but given Sony's history with this sort of thing it's pretty clear the only way to get any kind of help or results is to cause the biggest stink possible and hope they respond to save face, so that's what I'm doing.

I apologize if this is a bit incoherent or something, but I am beyond frustrated right now. With Uncharted 4 being released, I actually had a use for my PS4, and I was very excited to play it. However, when I tried to log in to my PS+ account, I was told my password was incorrect. After trying every possible word + number combination I use for passwords (just a system I use so that I don't wind up using the same password for everything) I decided to bite the bullet and just reset it, despite knowing from past experiences that this is a pain in the ass on Playstation.

Whatever, I have to reset the password. Kind of annoying, but overall not a huge deal. I logged on to the website and put in my email to get password reset instructions sent to me, but I just keep getting an error message. Don't know why that was an issue, because when I used my PS4 to send the email it worked on the first attempt. Whatever, just a minor inconvenience. Annoying, but at the end of the day who cares, right? Anyways, I follow the password reset link they emailed me, enter in the information, and click "Next."

At this point I'm pretty frustrated, literally none of the systems in place have worked, and now I have to do a live chat with tech support just to try and reset my password. Again, at the end of the day, not a big deal. Is it inconvenient and annoying? Yeah, but it's not the end of the world.

So I submit my ticket and am told that my expected wait time is 30 minutes. Seemed kind of high to me, but there's not really anything I could do about it, so I just waited until I got the little notification ping that I was in chat. Once I was in the chat... Things just got worse. I won't give you a play-by-play of what was said in the chat, instead you can just read the whole thing by clicking here.

I probably come across as a little bit of a dickface in that, given that the actual issues at hand are out of the support operator's control; and I tried to keep from getting heated toward her (I know that it's no fun to get yelled at when there's nothing more you can do to help), but at this point I was pretty mad. Hell, I'm still pretty mad. That's the whole reason I'm writing this whole stupid thing up.

I don't really know what the point of my writing all this out was. I don't expect it to really get any attention or for anything to come of it, but maybe someone on here had a similar experience and can help me out. I just want to fucking play Uncharted.

This is why I play on PC. Steam support may be actual trash, but they've never held my account hostage without even allowing me to prove that the charges I'm being expected to pay are fraudulent.

Fuck you Sony.
