The first day of the conference was March 19, and it will be continuing tomorrow on the 20th.
It seems many on this subreddit are (justifiably) very pessimistic about the current state of technology, and how it relates to our human rights. I want to start this thread to let people know that we can emancipate our future if we work together. The progress that has already been made (indicated by the reference to foss in the title) proves this.
People need to know that there is, in fact, a choice. And IT does not necessarily doom us to totalitarianism.
