Apple is silent and the media isn't reporting on it but there are significant bugs affecting many people after they update their devices to iOS 9.3

Edit: 9.2.1 users are experiencing the same issues now. What the hell is going on?

For whatever reason, the media has ignored this story and, in true Apple fashion, Apple has been completely silent about these issues.

The issues do not appear to show up right after installing the 9.3 update and they have not been affecting every device equally. In my case, it took about a day for the issues to appear but others have taken up to two days. Some users only report battery draining issues while some, such as myself, report a catastrophic failure of the phone's ability to handle embedded permalinks, within apps and on websites.

To compile all of the issues, I created this "9.3 Bug Thread" in /r/iphone. Here are some of the issues that myself and many users are experiencing:

I created a couple GIFs to help visualize the hyperlink issue.

  • GIF 1 - The end is when Safari freezes, after long pressing the link.
  • GIF 2 - The disabling of Javascript helped us use Google again so that's why I included that in this GIF.

I also uploaded a Youtube video that shows me navigating around CNN.com

I have had an issue pretty consistently where I will be texting a friend with read receipts turned on, my message then shows its read but when I come back to the conversation "read at ___" is changed to "delivered". But on my Mac, the message still shows as having been read.

I recently upgraded to iOS 9.3 on my iPhone 6 and just started having issues this morning. Most notably, the majority of my apps run excruciatingly slow or freeze up. In Messages, I'm unable to send photos via SMS or via iMessage. When I attempt to, there's a little pinwheel that loads once I select a photo, then it pops back to the Message screen without actually loading a photo.

Safari Broken on iOS 9.3. No solution found yet. Resetting settings, cache or history does nothing. Disabling content blockers does nothing. Disabling javascript does nothing.

OK, so I installed the latest software update (9.3) yesterday and ever since, my wifi has been intermittent at best, and for the most part, doesn't work at all even though it says I have a connection/signal.

Anyone else experiencing this? I researched some online and tried resetting the network settings, and did a hard reboot and no dice. I have tried both a 2.4ghz and 5g connection, reset my modem and router, and still doesn't work.

Next step is going to revert back to 9.2.1.

I have 300 down and 30 up, but pull about 170mbps down and 22 up with pretty new modem and router. No problems with my iMac, macbook or all 3 of my PC's and laptop. Nor my PS4, XB1, or Sonos system. Just the iPhone since the update.

I keep getting logged out of Facebook, Instagram, alien blue... I turned my battery percentage on yesterday and today it's off. I think my iPhone is forgetting its settings... Anybody else reporting?

It may have something to do with the 9.3 update, but after the update my phone started charging slowly. I looked online and tried that toothpick thing to remove the dirt from the port, but that didn't work either. I'm using a third party charger by the way (that may also have something to do with it). Does anyone know the problem?

So on 9.2, when I plugged my iPhone 6 into my Kia's "iPod" USB, it would automatically scan for media and then start playing music or a podcast (if I had previously been playing a podcast). After updating to 9.3, this doesn't work. My car just charges through that USB port and doesn't recognize my device as a media device.

I've tested this in two cars with a similar setup (non-touchscreen interface USB iPod port), and in both cases, a phone on 9.2 will play media, and my phone on 9.3 will not.

I chatted with apple support via Twitter and we went through a ton of steps (reset all settings, fully reset the phone, etc), and nothing has worked. I had a call with a rep and they say that I probably need to bring my car to the dealer so they can update the car's firmware. This seems unnecessary. It's not a complex entertainment system, just a standard radio that has a USB port that used to be compatible with Apple products.

Is anyone else having double notification issues with iOS 9.3?

Outside of Reddit, there are multiple threads full of people with the same issues:

As you can see, the problems are wide ranging and significant. I guess that's why I made this post. The silence from Apple is disgusting so hopefully a post like this will encourage the media to light a fire under Apple's ass.
