Comcast: At it again. Signed up for a package, they downgraded me a month later to a package with the same price.

Back in April, Comcast had just released 150mbps service in my area. I ordered my service upgrade online using the Chat service, and here's the response I received:

Comcast: I have an Awesome deal for you.

Comcast: That is HD Premier XF Triple Play

Comcast: In you will get 260+ TV Channels +unlimited calling and text with Comcast Digital Voice.

Comcast: And you will also get Extreme 150mbps internet speed.

Comcast: At just $129.99/mo for first 24 months on contract basis.

Comcast: Let me quickly add HD Premier XF Triple Play in your account.

MrMunchkin: sounds awesome, thank you

MrMunchkin: and that's 150Mbps, correct?

Comcast: Yes, that is correct!

Comcast: I have successfully processed your order.

Comcast: In order to receive the pricing you have been quoted today let me give you a link that you can use to accept the terms of this agreement.

Comcast: Failure to accept these terms will void the promotional pricing that I have offered you today.

MrMunchkin: it says Xtreme 105 Internet in the agreement, is that going to be a problem?

Comcast: Not to worry about that, You will get 150 mbps Internet speed.

Comcast: I assure you that everything will be taken care of.

So, come May 22nd, I notice that my Internet service is still at 50mbps. I call them up, and they tell me they have me on the wrong coax line... Okay... That doesn't make sense. They tell me they are going to change it to a new line that will give me 105mbps. No... I wanted the 150mbps service.

I don't have any of the extras that Comcast promised in the Premier XF Triple Play package, including HBO, Starz, Cinemax, NFL, etc. I called them just a few minutes ago to check WTF is up. It turns out, after my phone call with them on May 22nd, they downgraded me to the Starter XF Triple Play package, which is 50mbps and does not include the extra channels which I really wanted.

And, after a series of outages in my area recently due to wind/rain storms, my internet service is back down to 50mbps because that's the speed of the Starter package. I feel like I'm being swindled, and this feels like it's illegal. I agreed to the 2 year term for the Premier XF Triple Play package, but never agreed to a Starter package, and now they are trying to tell me that I only signed up for the Starter package, except I have no agreement for it, I never signed it, and I don't even have an ORDER NUMBER for it.

God damnit I hate Comcast and its monopoly in my area.

tl;dr: Comcast, your practices are shady as hell, I don't respect you as a company. If I had LITERALLY ANY other service that was more than 1.5mbps, I would jump ship and pay ANY AND ALL EARLY TERMINATION FEES to get rid of your abomination of a service. You are the WORST company.
